Two locations, and what happens at each
Admissions, ground school and simulator sessions run from our Bhubaneswar office. All live flying is done at our DGCA-authorised flying site at Narangarh, Khordha, roughly an hour from the city. Please plan for daily travel on flying days, and ask us about transport when you enrol.

Is Skyvan Aviation a DGCA-approved RPTO?
Yes. Skyvan Aviation is a DGCA-approved Remote Pilot Training Organisation based in Bhubaneswar, and is Odisha's first RPTO authorised to train and certify remote pilots for both the Small Class and the Medium Class Remote Pilot Certificate.
How long does it take to become a certified drone pilot?
Seven days. The DGCA course covers 14 hours of theory, 3 hours of simulator training and 4.5 hours of live flying, followed by the DGCA assessment and certificate issue.
What is the difference between Small Class and Medium Class RPC?
Small Class covers unmanned aircraft from 2 kg to 25 kg, survey, mapping and cinematography drones. Medium Class covers heavy agricultural spraying rigs and industrial platforms. Skyvan is the only RPTO in Odisha authorised to train Medium Class remote pilots, and is authorised up to 50 kg all-up weight under DGCA Authorisation No. 31/2023.
What does the drone pilot course cost?

Who is eligible for DGCA drone pilot training?
You must be 18 years or older, have passed Class 10 or an equivalent, hold a valid government photo ID, and submit a medical fitness self-declaration. No prior flying experience is required.
Do you provide accommodation for outstation candidates?
Yes. Hostel facility is available for candidates travelling to Bhubaneswar from elsewhere in Odisha or outside the state.
