Odisha's first DGCA-approved RPTO, built to keep talent in the state
Skyvan Aviation trains, certifies and employs drone pilots from Bhubaneswar. We are the first DGCA-approved RPTO in Odisha and the only one authorised to certify both Small Class and Medium Class remote pilots.
Our story
A certification pathway that didn't exist here before
For years, anyone in Odisha who wanted a commercial drone licence had to travel to Kolkata, Hyderabad or further, book accommodation, take a week off, and pay for all of it before the course fee. The talent was here. The pathway was not.
Skyvan Aviation was set up to close that gap. We took the DGCA approval process end to end and became the first Remote Pilot Training Organisation in the state. We then went further and secured Medium Class authorisation, which is what lets our candidates fly the heavier agricultural and industrial platforms where the real contracts are.
Today more than 150 certified pilots have come through our Sahid Nagar centre. Many now run their own spraying and survey operations. That is the measure we care about.

Odisha gets its first DGCA-approved RPTO
Skyvan Aviation cleared the DGCA approval process to become the first Remote Pilot Training Organisation in Odisha, ending the need for candidates to travel out of state to get certified.
- The expansion
Medium Class authorisation
Skyvan added Medium Class authorisation, making it the only RPTO in the state able to train and certify remote pilots in both the Small and Medium categories, up to 50 kg all-up weight under Authorisation No. 31/2023.

150+ certified pilots
More than 150 pilots have trained at our Sahid Nagar centre and now fly survey, agri-spraying, inspection and cinematography missions across eastern India.

Founding member of Skyvan Aviation and DGCA-approved drone trainer. Expert in curriculum design, human factors, and pilot psychological preparedness with extensive experience in educational training & development.
Nitin Singhla
Adviser
Specialist in infrastructure project management, smart city schemes, and e-mobility pan-India. Guides policy, project conception, implementation, and O&M lifecycle for large-scale drone deployment projects.

Four things we don't compromise on
Safety is the syllabus
Briefings, perimeters, failsafe drills and go/no-go discipline are not add-ons to our course. They are the course.
Hours over slideware
Simulator time and live flying make a pilot. We build the schedule around stick time, not seat time.
Access for Odisha
Reasonable fees, hostel facility and a central Bhubaneswar location so a certificate does not require relocating to another state.
Work-grounded training
Our own flight team runs commercial missions. What clients actually ask for shapes what we teach.
